Setting Real Estate Goals

If you own a home, take this year to make improvements that have fallen through the cracks.

Take a look at those yearly to-dos, space them out in a manageable manner, and write them down on a to-do list. Use the month of January to go through your home and edit the things you no longer use or need.

Start in one room and work your way through each room. I use the ask the - if it hasn't been worn or used in two years, it probably won’t be again. Donate, recycle or get rid of it. I know after making this part of your yearly purge, you’ll not only feel good but your home will be a better living environment. Start in the closet, clean out the drawers, organize your pantry, clean out your desk. It’s amazing what we collect and what we actually need or care about.

If you’re looking to sell a home. These types of tasks may also be helpful for you to get your home ready. Making sure all is “tickety-boo” in both decor and functionality in your home, can ensure that you receive a maximum sale price with minimal effort.

Contacting a real estate agent or broker, talking to them about your plan for selling your home, your desires for the process, and your timeline no matter how far in advance, can help you create a smooth and profitable process this coming year.
